In this 180-hour programme, you’ll begin by grounding yourself in safety and machine familiarization. You’ll learn pre-start inspection routines—checking hydraulic lines, outriggers and bucket linkages—while mastering personal protective equipment and emergency-stop protocols. Our trainers, seasoned in road and building projects across Uganda, ensure you internalize hazard-spotting and risk-assessment techniques before you ever touch a lever.

Next, you’ll split your time between digging with the backhoe arm and loading with the front bucket. Early drills focus on basic arm articulation—swing, dip and lift—on flat ground, then progress to trench-digging and foundation excavation that mirror real assignments on sites in Entebbe and Jinja. Afternoon sessions shift to loader work: scooping, carrying and dumping soil with precision, practicing tight-space manoeuvres that you’ll use on urban construction plots.

In your final phase, you’ll tackle advanced site simulations that combine digging, loading and outrigger deployment under realistic time constraints. You’ll sequence tasks—excavate, back-fill, level and clean-up—just as you would on dam and bridge foundations. Each day ends with hands-on maintenance training: greasing pins, topping hydraulic fluids and tightening fittings. Graduate with a Marashatech Certificate of Competence and step confidently into roles operating TLBs on Uganda’s next wave of infrastructure projects.
